Triennial DC trip and Sponsorship Opportunities
Some schools sponsor an annual “DC Trip” for kids in a certain grade level. Others have had to cancel the tradition due to liability issues or a lack of chaperones.
We make a trip like this possible by scheduling a trip once every three years. Some students attend in 6th grade, at the start of “middle school,” while others wait until their 8th grade year.
Working with a tour company, our teachers have put together an engaging experience filled with museums and memorials.
FUNDING THE EXPERIENCE
One way we make the trip possible for each student is by sponsoring a series of fundraisers. In some cases students get credit for each ticket or item sold. In other cases the proceeds lower the price for each student.
However, EVERY student will end up having a “balance due” once the fundraisers have been completed.
Principal Berndt needs money from which can provide assistance to students on a case-by-case basis. WANT TO HELP? Mark your EXTRA gift “DC Scholarship Fund.”
Tickets are still for sale for Trivia Night, happening this Friday, December 6 at 6pm in the Gymnasium. This event is a fun evening to raise funds toward the cost of the 6-8th graders’ trip to Washington D.C. this spring. The event committee is looking for folks that would like to support this fundraiser, and is planning gifts for those who sponsor. The sponsorship opportunities are:
- $250 to provide pizzas (Sponsor will receive a free team table, in a preferred location.)
- $100 to cover the cost of the Trivia Host, Mark Kline (Sponsor’s team table will get to choose a preferred location.)
- $100 to provide plates, napkins, plasticware, tablecloths (Sponsor’s team will each get a coupon for a free dessert/baked goods item.)
- $100 to provide pops and bottled waters (Sponsor’s team will each get a coupon for a free dessert/baked goods item.)
