BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL
Make way for basketball season! Students in grades 4 – 8 turned in their permission slips and the new uniforms are in! The athletic director will have practice and game schedules out to players soon!
WANTED: BASKETBALL COACH FOR 4TH-6TH GRADE BOYS. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Miss Stelter at julie.stelter@stjohns-laporte.com! Anyone that would like to coach will need a background check and be School Board approved prior to conducting practices.
GIRLS ON THE RUN
Eight students from St. John participated in the annual Girls on the Run 5K at Valparaiso University. Laughing Lipscomb and Goofy Gross (Dr. Lipscomb and Mrs. Gross) coached the 3rd-5th grade girls. The girls learned how to handle situations thanks to the curriculum provided by Girls on the Run. The 5K was a family effort and time of fellowship outside of the church and school. Before the 5k started, Girls on the Run provided extra goodies for the students. Some of these things included face painting, hair glitter, and decorating their running bibs. The St. John’s team ended their season with a party after school on November 19th.
