The St. John’s Eagles Basketball Teams have been practicing since early December and now have started the season of games. There are four teams this year, which is a nice change! 13 girls are participating on the 4-8th grade team that is coached by Mr. Chas Grott. The 4-5th-grade boys team has 9 boys participating, and they are coached by Mr. David Farris. The 7-8 grade boys have 6 participating; they are coached by first-year coach Mr. Devlin McCoy, assisted in practices by Miss Stelter.
The game season started with the Boys teams traveling to Queen of All Saints in Michigan City on January 12th to take on the Vikings. The Girls teams started their season at Queen of All Saints on January 14th against the Vikings in Michigan City.
St. John’s will be hosting their tournaments again this year (2026) on Saturday, January 31st, for the Younger boys and girls teams, and on February 14th for the Older boys and girls teams. Tip-off times are 9:00 AM for both dates.
If you’d like to attend the tournament to cheer on the Eagles, contact the school office for an entrance code.
