Middle School Students will tour D.C. this May!

Triennial DC Trip

Some schools sponsor an annual “DC Trip” for kids in a certain grade level. Others have had to cancel the tradition due to liability issues or a lack of chaperones.
We make a trip like this possible by scheduling a trip once every three years. This means some students attend in 6th grade, at the start of “middle school,” while others wait until their 8th grade year. Working with a tour company, our teachers have put together an engaging experience filled with museums and memorials.

This year the 6-8th graders and chaperones will be in Washington, D.C. in mid-May.

FUNDING THE EXPERIENCE

One way we make the trip possible for each student is by sponsoring a series of fundraisers. In some cases students get credit for each ticket or item sold. In other cases the proceeds lower the price for each student.
However, EVERY student will end up having a “balance due” once the fundraisers have been completed. Principal Berndt needs money from which can provide assistance to students on a case-by-case basis.
