Kid’s Connect is a way to help the growing number of many families that attend the Connect service at 9:30am on Sundays. This is just one more way that we aim to help both parents and children participate in worship.

During Kid’s Connect, children move to the basement during the middle part of the service for a short Bible lesson and craft. The students not only enjoy the activity, but it is presented in a way more suitable to children (as compared to a 15-minuter sermon). Some Sundays very few children are in worship while other Sundays there has been a big group join in downstairs.

At first Kid’s Connect was limited to Sundays when Deaconess Michele was present. But this spring additional volunteers have stepped up to help, increasing the number of times we are able to provide more significant ministry for these very important worshippers!

Could we recruit enough helpers to make Kid’s Connect an “every week” opportunity?  We need four or five volunteers who regularly lead the activity (1-2 times) every four to six weeks. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, whether you’d like to be on a monthly or bi-monthly or irregular rotation, please contact Deaconess Michele. Volunteers will be able to assist a few times, to get to know the students and learn the routine, before then leading a Kid’s Connect on their own. The materials are prepared well in advance so that volunteers can look over the lesson ahead of time and ensure they feel comfortable with the material and the craft.

As soon as Kid’s Connect can be scheduled each week, we will find a way to include families who regularly attend the 8:00am service as well.

To learn more about Kid’s Connect, or if you’re willing to volunteer to lead, contact Deaconess Michele!
