Here are some opportunities to assist at St. John’s this winter. Take a look at how you can be engaged in supporting the life of this communities current needs below. If you would like to volunteer in another way that is not listed, reach out to Deaconess Michele to get connected.
Help prepare the altar for communion Sundays: Volunteers serve one month of the year and assistance is available as you learn the process. For more information, contact the church office.
Thrift Shop: Help is always appreciated to keep the story tidy and prep donations to go in the shop. If you have time available on Mondays or Thursdays from 8 am – 10 am to help, please stop by to volunteer.
Co-lead a Bible lesson and craft for students with Deaconess Michele: During Connect service, Deaconess Michele does a craft with students once or twice a month, and is in need of 1-2 more volunteers to assist. These projects are planned ahead of time so information can be shared early on, so that you know when and what you would be doing. If you’re willing to help, contact Deaconess Michele.
NEST: Are you good at being a sounding board for ideas? Are you good at praying for our school? Our Nurturing Eagle Support Team (N.E.S.T.) is looking for additional assistance from anyone with St. John’s connections (church or school). All that’s required is some time to meet and your passion for SJLS. Give the school office a call or read more about upcoming events here.
Event planning: There are various events throughout the year that require weeks of planning. If you have a talent or joy for planning events, or maybe you enjoy shopping, please let Deaconess Michele know. Help of any amount would be appreciated.
(To volunteer for any of these ministries, contact the church office and they will get you connected to the right person!)
