Here are some opportunities to assist various ministries at St. John’s this upcoming spring and summer. Take a look at how you can be engaged in supporting the life of this communities current needs, right now:

Help prepare the altar for communion Sundays: Volunteers serve one month of the year and assistance is available as you learn the process. For more information, contact the church office.

Help Deaconess teach the children a Bible story and assemble a craft: During Connect service, Deaconess does a craft with students once or twice a month, and volunteers need only help once every couple of months. Volunteers would help kids complete a craft, just to be an extra set of hands. If you’re willing to help, contact Deaconess Michele

Progress the slides during worship: If you know how to click a mouse, you can help with the technology ministry!

Usher: More volunteers to join the rotating schedule is always a benefit!

Cleaning the school over the summer: The summer is a great time to ensure the facilities are in great shape for the fall. Volunteers who are willing to come in over the summer for various projects would help the janitor, Mary Jo, to get various areas cleaned or tidied up.

Thrift Shop: Help is always appreciated to keep the story tidy and prep donations to go in the shop. If you have time available on Mondays or Thursdays from 8 am – 10 am to help, please stop by to volunteer.

Event planning: Various events throughout the year, such as Family Reunion Sunday and Trunk-or-Treat, require coordination and creativity to get everything prepped. If you enjoy planning, this may be a great way for you to support one of our yearly events. Contact the church office if you’re willing to assist.

NEST: Are you good at being a sounding board for ideas? Are you good at praying for our school? Our Nurturing Eagle Support Team (N.E.S.T.) is needing some additional leadership and could use additional assistance from anyone with St. John’s connections (church or school). All that’s required is some time to meet and your passion for SJLS. Give the school office a call!

Ushers: individuals are needed for each worship service and tasks vary from gathering offerings to ringing the bells to helping guide worshippers to communion.

(To volunteer for any of these ministries, contact the church office and they will get you connected to the right person!)
