Before fall break, the 2nd graders created their very own Thanksgiving balloon parade.
Mrs. Gross read the book “Balloons over Broadway” to the students, which shares the true story of the puppeteer who invented the first balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The students then got to design their own balloon for a class parade. As a STEM project, the students were challenged with designing an apparatus that they’d hold at chest level to make their balloon float above their head. Once all of their balloons and apparatus’ were prepared the students got to have their parade! The parade path wove around the building to visit the classrooms of the lower grades.
Well done to the whole class and Mrs. Gross on the adorable and creative parade!
