NEST
NEST stands for Nurturing Eagle Support Team and is a team of people who love SJLS – parents, teachers, and other volunteers – to support the school, plan fundraisers and pray for the students. All adults in the school and church communities are invited to join this team! There are still 2 opportunities to attend and contribute to the conversations and planning this spring.
NEST will meet at 4pm in the Ladies’ Lounge on April 28 and May 19.
Career Day on May 9th
Dr. Lipscomb is the Director of Student Success, and considers it essential for the students to be exposed to a wide range of career options. She is looking for a diverse set of 15 professionals, to share with students about their careers.
On May 9th, from 8:30 to 10:30 am, the 5-8th grade students will bring their prepared list of questions and visit with the professionals, enabling them to learn about various fields and explore their passions. (Last year Career Day included a mold maker, financial advisers, and nurse practitioners, among others.)
Prior to the rotations, there will be a networking session for the professionals to connect and share insights.
If you are willing to share YOUR career with the students, please contact Dr. Lipscomb via the school office.
Staff appreciation week
Staff Appreciation Week which is May 5th-9th! You can join in celebrating the hard-working, compassionate staff that help to make the church and school possible, by dropping off cards or encouraging words for the staff to the church or school offices. Please keep the staff in your prayers, especially during this week of support and encouragement.

Every student receives a scholarship and various types of assistance are available to help families.
