NO STUDENT should be turned away from attending St. John’s Lutheran School because of financial burdens.
St. John’s Lutheran School participates in the Indiana Choice Scholarship program, providing nearly $7,000 PER STUDENT to cover a majority of the cost of tuition and fees. (For the 2025/26 tuition and fees will be $8,800.) This scholarship is based on the family’s income and helps every family afford an Eagle education for their children.
There are other opportunities for financial aid available for families. The following scholarships are applied to the balance due in the following order:
- Church Partner Scholarships provide a scholarship for ANY students who actively participates in the ministry of a church, including St. John’s. Pastors will need to affirm your active participation (not just a member) in order to qualify.
- Eagle Fund Scholarships are NEEDS based scholarships provided to every student based on their household income.
- New Eagle Awards help students who are attending St. John’s for the first time (k-8, so our preschool students qualify).
- School Partner Awards are provided students whose parent(s) have indicated their willingness to take an active leadership role in assisting our school as a room parent, an active member or NEST or through other volunteer opportunities.
Participation in the Indiana School Choice Scholarship program is a prerequisite for receiving any other financial assistance from St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Many of the additional financial aid is provided St. John’s students through donations made to the Lutheran SGO of Indiana. Donors receive a TAX CREDIT from the State of Indiana equal to $.50 for every dollar they donate. (A $100 gift costs the donor $50.) If you would like to donate toward the SJLC scholarship fund, to help the church assist more school families, please contact Pastor Albers.
If a family is facing any unusual circumstance or need that has not been appropriately addressed through one of these scholarship programs, they can contact Principal Berndt to discuss further assistance that may be available.
