Existing projects continue to get the attention of volunteers while planning for new projects is underway.
NEW DRIVEWAY
Work on the front driveway and parking area is completed! Or at least nearly so. Signage and work on drainage will be completed later in the month of June. A mini excavator is needed to finish work on the drainage next to the building which cannot be done for at least a month after new pavement was put in place.
Those with limited mobility should first select one of these places. There are additional places designated for this same purpose in front of the school office.
While on site the trustees arranged for some additional work on some of the worst areas of the parking lot, around a drain on the north side of the church parking lot as well as the main drive in front of the school.
NEW CHAIRS
Fabric selections have been made and a deposit sent to New Holland Church Furniture. By Thanksgiving 50 church chairs (10 of them with arms) will replace the pews in the chapel creating a more flexible and useable space. If you would like to “sponsor” a chair, make a gift of at least $250 and mark it as such on your gift (either by check or online). A donor will “match” your gift with an additional $50!
NEW FLOORING
Porcelain tile, adhesive, and grout have been ordered through The Floor Store on Boyd Drive in LaPorte. We have worked with Jim and Linda on previous projects including carpet in the sanctuary. Since at least one size of the tile is on backorder, we won’t begin removing pews until the floor is on hand and ready to install.
It is necessary that ALL of the Project Welcome 2.0 projects are supported by ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL GIFTS. Please consider making an additional gift in support of this and other projects.
