Bring your change to church on Sunday, February 23, and help our students wage their PENNY WAR!
The St. John’s Student Council is sponsoring a PENNY WAR to benefit Hoots to Howls Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Star City, Indiana. After receiving a great presentation on Friday, February 1, the students decided to help the cause with this very popular fundraiser.
Here’s how it works:
- NINE red buckets will be placed in the hallway, one for each classroom.
- Each day students bring some money to add to their bucket or their competitors.
- Pennies each ADD to the score for the classroom, anything SILVER or PAPER subtracts from the total.
The buckets will be in the HALLWAY on Sunday, February 23, and ready to receive YOUR donations. STUDENTS from St. John’s will be on hand to “encourage” your gift to the right classroom. (Remember, a $1 bill reduces the classroom total by 100!). So a 6th grade student may ask you to place your quarter in the 4th grade bucket, but ask you to place your pennies in the 6th grade bucket! On Tuesday morning, February 25, students will have a final chance to fill their classroom’s bucket.
When you come to church on Sunday, February 23, fill your pocket with spare change and help our students achieve their goal.
