Operation Christmas Child Outreach

Showbox Campaign

Each year children and adults pack shoe boxes with gifts intended to bless children in need around the world. Operation Christmas Child is the service learning project for St. John’s Lutheran School’s first-grade classroom. It is also a great way for parents to teach their children about giving and caring for others, as they prepare their shoebox.

St. John’s School collected and contributed shoeboxes this fall during the third week of November. On Friday, November 15th, Mrs. Foglesong’s first grade students and parents packed shoe boxes with items that were donated.  Some students also chose to take boxes home to fill and return to school.

St. John’s Lutheran School would like to thank everyone for making this wonderful gift of giving possible. Your support of Operation Christmas Child is so much appreciated! Our final count of shoeboxes was 126 boxes!! Thanks to you not only will 126 children receive a box and the opportunity to hear about Jesus, but their families will also be greatly impacted by the Good News!

If you would like to make an additional financial gift in support of Operation Christmas Child give it to a student or bring it yourself to a Chapel service sometime this month. Chapel is on Wednesdays at 8:10am.
