The gate to the back parking lot was installed during the final weeks of school, but more renovations are necessary to make sure it is fully functioning by the time the new school year begins.
Early in June, several St. John’s members got to work digging a trench and laying conduit underground from the building to the control panels for the gate. Power is necessary along with controls to make sure the gate opens automatically using the same codes and schedule for entry to the school building. Visitors will be able to push a button to call the church office and be given entry.
But before all of that can happen, wire and cable will need to be run for and from a new control center located in the gymnasium storage room and other points of entry must be re-configured to allow for expansion of the keyless access system to the interior gymnasium doors.
Work will continue through the upcoming weeks. If you would like to help, contact the church office or Pastor Albers.
