There are so many ways to participate and contribute to the school community. Whether you have an hour to spare or would like to run a project, your involvement is welcome and valued. Volunteers are the heart of the NEST group—helping with events, supporting teachers, and organizing activities that enrich the student’s educational experience. If you have questions or want to contribute, please contact the school office to be connected with the NEST co-chairs: Kati Stone and Katie Giese.

Upcoming events and fundraisers:

Family Movie Night: September 12th at 5pm

  • All families are invited to join for a fun movie night at the school! Pizza, water, and snacks will be available for sale. Movie title is TBA.

Culver’s Give Back: Wednesday, September 17th

  • 10% of all orders that mention St. John’s will be donated to the school. Dine out and support the school!

Sunflower Fest: Saturday, September 20th, 8-4pm

  • All members of our church and school communities are invited to help host our tent at the Sunflower Fest. This is a great way to share the love of Jesus with our community and tell others about our school and church ministries. You can sign up in the Narthex or Cafeteria.

Next NEST Meeting: Wednesday, September 24

  • Join us at 4pm in the Ladies’ Lounge to sign up to help at an event or two, or to learn more about what NEST does.

Nelson’s Port-a-pit Chicken: Friday, September 26th

  • Buy tickets now from a NEST member or the school office. It is $10 for ½ chicken and $5 for pit-tatoes. Pre-ordered items can be picked up from 2-5, any remaining chicken will be sold 5-6. Bake sale items will also be sold.

Recent Highlights

Popsicles & Parents:

  • Thank you to everyone who attended and helped! With over 10 families, it was a great start for our first time “out of the Nest” as laughter and new friendships filled the air, as well as lots of popsicles.

The First NEST Meeting of the Year:

  • Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. There were around 15 parents & teachers – Great turnout! So many great conversations and ideas were flowing.

Spirit Wear Fundraiser:

  • Katie Geise did an amazing job wrangling ALL the forms, money, etc. to get spirit wear available at the start of the year. The goal was to offer affordable spirit wear and make a few dollars for the NEST fund to start the year, and they succeeded! Thanks to everyone who ordered. There are plans to do something similar again later this year.
