There are various ministries that could use volunteers, as the summer months are used to plan and prepare for more wonderful events. Here is information on a current need:

Throughout this year, Deaconess Michele has been creating short Bible lessons, with crafts that emphasize the lesson, for children who attend the Connect service. These lessons “pop up” about once or twice a month, and always coincide with the sermon or with one of the Scripture readings of the morning. This has been a great way for our younger members of the church to get to learn the Bible from an age-appropriate lesson.

Most recently the students discussed how ‘we are like sheep and follow Jesus’ voice’ and they did a string craft to design a sheep to gift to their moms for Mother’s Day. At the start of Holy Week they discussed the different days that the church celebrates leading up to Easter, and then they colored a pinwheel to highlight the different days and track them during the week.

As planning for the summer begins, Deaconess Michele is in need of assistance. A couple adults who can help to facilitate this Bible and craft time are needed for the summer and fall lessons. Deaconess does all of the planning and craft prep ahead of time, so the only time help is needed is during the Sunday mornings when crafts are happening. Ideally two or three volunteers will rotate, so that each person only assists once a month. If you are willing to help, or want to know more, please reach out to Deaconess Michele.
