Lavender is a symbol of calmness, devotion, and royalty. What does a life of calm, peace, and devotion look like for a daughter of the King? Whether you’re in a great time of life or struggling with stress or grief, the upcoming women’s retreat is designed to help ladies process life through the lens of Scripture and step forward in expectant hope.
Deaconess Michele Doel and Dionne Lovstad-Jones invite the women of St. John’s to a one-day women’s retreat at the church on Saturday, February 28th. The retreat will be a wonderful time for each individual to grow in their faith and for the community of sisters in Christ to grow together.
The Lavender of Life in The Lord: from Despair to Delight will provide participants the chance to learn how to endure the difficult times of life, both the short-term trials and the heartbreaks, and even wait through them with faith-filled prayer and worship.
Each session will include a time of study in Scripture, a group conversation, and then an activity designed to help you apply what you learned. You will leave the retreat with actionable skills you’ve learned and practiced to help in your faith walk.
This is not just a day-long Bible study. Rather, the retreat is designed to strengthen relationships among existing friends and to extend our community of faith to include your friends or family. The day-long retreat will provide what other once-a-week studies don’t: time together as sisters in Christ.
Women need not be from St. John’s, or even La Porte, so plan now to invite family members and friends!
The registration and $50 fee are due to the church office by February 16th. Scholarships are available, so do not let personal finances keep you or others from attending. Registration forms are available at church or online at www.StJohnsLaPorte.org/LavenderLife For more information, contact Deaconess Michele @ DeacMichele@stjohnslaporte.org.
