After starting our season with a couple of cancellations due to weather, the season was off and running with two or three games a week.
The St. John’s tournaments we hosted were successful and won by Renaissance Academy. They were great days of good competition, sportsmanship, and fun. Basketball season wrapped up last week on Friday, March 8th, with a grand finale when the Girl’s teams took on the Boy’s teams. Both Boy’s teams pulled out victories.
Thank you to all of the coaches who volunteered your time and talents to coach our teams this year: Mr. Matt Hagenow (4/5 Boys), Mr. Jacob Zoll and Mr. Chas Grott (4/5 Girls), Mr. & Mrs. Ron and MJ Maynard (6/8 Girls), and Mr. Chas Grott (6/8 Boys). You could see the improvement each time they took the court, and the students had fun playing while learning the game. The 8th Graders were recognized at their last home game of the season. Those 8th Graders are Becca Baker, Ken Martinez, Kieran McCoy, Aidan Myers, and Nolan Roule. They all displayed great leadership and sportsmanship on the basketball court.
After Spring Break, we will be starting our Intramural program starting with Floor Hockey. Those in Grades 4th to 8th are invited to participate. We will start on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, after school (2:30) until 4:00 pm in the gymnasium.
