A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
On Thursday, August 17, we will welcome students “Back to the Nest” for the 2023-2024 school year! The summer was full of joyful blessings, but it will be an even greater joy to have everyone back together. Although we will welcome to the next several dozen NEW students, in every classroom. We have seen a 20% increase in enrollment and new families are calling to get information. We may reach 130 K-8 students (we ended last school year with 106 K-8 students).
CONNECTED!
Our school theme this school year is “Connected.” Our theme verse is “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15: 1-5. Teachers are planning for our students to do more activities this school year designed to connect all of us through Christ’s love for us, and our love of Christ.

CALENDAR AND HANDBOOK
Parents should look carefully at our school calendar and the Student/Parent Handbook. There are NO built-in eLearning days. We may have eLearning in emergency situations, (such as inclement weather), but otherwise we are either “in” school or not. The handbook includes other important topics such as our student dress code, attendance and tardy policies, and student expectations. The school calendar is slightly different from the LaPorte Community School Corporation, so if your student rides LaPorte’s School Bus transportation, please find the dates when SJLS is in school and there is no bus service.
