“Deep cleaning” needed throughout the church building, beginning in the knave

Our beautiful sanctuary, along with the sacristy, vestry and other storage areas, require a good once-a-year deep clean. Scrubbing floors, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, window cleaning, de-cluttering … things tend to build up week after week and especially after bigger events. While the recent renovations did not stir up a huge mess, extra dust finds its way into the cracks and crevices of a large church building.

Leaders are preparing for a church cleanup day Saturday, October 21.  They are planning for three dozen workers (or more), so they are counting on your participation. The more workers, the cleaning can be completed!  Bring your favorite cleaning “tools,” or just pick up a mop or bucket or rags that will be provided that day.

If you aren’t up to the physical strain, consider stopping by the bakery and picking up some sweets to share and make a pot or two of coffee for the workers. Depending on the weather, there may be some work on the exterior of the building. And lots of workers will mean we can clean up some spaces on the lower level.

Work begins at 8am and we will plan to conclude by 2pm. Cannot come that early or stay the entire time? Pick out a three- or four-hour time slot, check in at the narthex, and get to work!
