St. John’s is the first stop along the La Porte Christmas Candlelight Tour this year!
Each year People Engaging in Preservation (PEP) sponsors this tour of historic homes in the neighborhood just west of the church. Each tour consists of five or six residences, one church, and one business over two days on the first weekend of December. This year will be the first in several years!
This annual event has proved to be very popular with the public, with visitors coming from outside the La Porte area, with hundreds of visitors on this single weekend. This will be a great opportunity for the community to get to see the beautiful architecture and stained glass of the church building, as well as a great opportunity for the St. John’s community to invite to worship those who are on the tour.
EVENT DETAILS
The Candlelight Tour will be Saturday, December 7th, 4:00-8:00 pm, and Sunday, December 8th, 1:00-5:00 pm. The St. John’s community is invited to attend the tour, but help will be needed to help host the event that weekend.
Volunteers will staff the snacks and drinks table, to ensure items are stocked. Others who want to learn more about the building will provide tours to attendees, and provide warm hospitality and welcome.
