Attention turns to new technology to facilitate meetings and studies.

Other than the new tri-fold doors currently being built, this winter workers will also be installing additional technology upgrades to facilitate its use for bible studies and meetings.

  • Large Screen Monitor: A new, large-format television will be installed on an articulating arm mounted in the back corner of the chapel. Eventually leaders will be able to connect wirelessly to the monitor for videos and presentations.
  • Internet Connectivity: The closest “access point” (AP) in the sanctuary doesn’t provide much coverage in the chapel. A new AP will be added to the room as soon as workers can extend the appropriate cable from the network switch located in the back of the church (in the basement).  Eventually these lower-quality APs will be upgraded with managed APs similar to the school building so that our guest network will be available campus wide.
  • Power: all of this requires the addition of electrical outlets. In 1954, when the church building was constructed, outlets were added for cleaning appliances such as a vacuum cleaner. Since that time outlets are required for keyboards, sound boards, computers, and monitors.
