Every Wednesday the school students walk to the church to have chapel in the Sanctuary. Throughout the year, the students hear Bible stories that span the history of God’s people. They learn liturgy, sing songs, pray and give offerings. Most weeks, Pastor Albers gives the message on the assigned Bible story. However, throughout the year each class gets the opportunity to lead chapel.
The offerings brought to chapel support a different cause each quarter. This year, the offerings go to Habitat for Humanity, Operation Christmas Child, City Parks, and Salvation Army.
The first quarter donation of $282.98 was given to the president of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, at the end of a recent chapel service. The second quarter donations of $186.35 were used during the Operation Christmas Child drive this past Christmas. So far this quarter, $70.37 has been given which will go to the City Parks.
