Chapel is a Critical Part of our School Ministry
Chapel Time:
Every Wednesday at 8:10 am our students meet in the church for our school chapel service. The Bible Story each week always provides an important lesson. Songs and prayers provide an opportunity for worship together. Students are encouraged to dress in Chapel attire. If you plan to attend, please enter through the portico and sign in at the registry table.
First Quarter Chapel Offerings:
Each Wednesday the school children are encouraged to support a mission project by bringing an offering. First Quarter offerings will be donated to the Pax Center, a local, faith-based non-profit organization with the mission “to keep LaPorte County well-fed and well-loved.”
Operation Christmas Child:
Our second quarter Chapel offerings will be donated to Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Mrs. Foglesong and the 1st-grade students will kick off OCC at a school assembly on November 3rd at 1:30 in the gym. Each year the “Packing Party” (November 17th at 1 pm this year) engages students directly in this important work… More information will be coming home soon with students.
Since 1993 more than 200 million OCC shoebox gifts have been delivered to children throughout the world. Each of our school children will be encouraged to fill an OCC Shoebox with items like a soccer ball with a pump, stuffed animals, small dolls, Hot Wheel cars, yo-yos, bouncy balls, tennis balls, stress balls, small Lego boxes, a wind-up flashlight, party necklaces, bar of soap, washcloth, toothbrush, brush or comb, small notebook, pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, scissors, stickers and more!!
Here is a link to the OCC wishlist on Amazon if you’d like to share. People can purchase and donate these items for our packing party or they can simply view the list to get ideas for their own shoeboxes.
