Following a very costly summer where nearly $85,000 was invested in emergency improvements to our gymnasium floor, Pastor Albers and other congregational leaders are planning for a Capital Fundraising Campaign beginning in the next couple of months.
Here’s what we know for certain:
- Since 2022 we have invested nearly $600,000 in capital improvements at both our school and church buildings.
- Nearly one-third (about $390,000) of these projects were planned and paid for by a combination of donations, grants, and an allocation of funds on hand.
- Several larger UNPLANNED projects have required emergency investments of nearly $207,000. These were critical projects which required decisive and immediate action on the part of our leadership.
- There are several PLANNED projects which will require the investment of an additional $125,000. Donors have provided about $30,000 of these funds.
In the last three years these important projects included:
- Renovations to our church building through Project Welcome
- Security Upgrades at our school building (mostly related to access controls)
- Replacement of 11 HVAC units at our school building
- The development of a new preschool play area for our youngest students and the community
- A new retractable gate, replacing the old swing-arm gate
- A new gymnasium floor (replacing the original direct-glue carpet)
- An IP Security Camera system monitoring sensitive entrances and areas (which is also easily expandable)
- Numerous other smaller upgrades, roof repairs, and HVAC repairs
Trustees and other leaders are also planning additional important projects, once funds have been donated or pledged:
- Gymnasium roof and/or wall repairs, along with repairs or replacement of roof drains
- Replacement of Sanctuary AC compressors and related equipment

Pastor Albers will begin making personal visits between now and Thanksgiving, with an update to the congregation and a kick-off to the “public” phase of the campaign at the Voters’ Assembly in December.
