Camp Lutherhaven is a nearby resource for students to get to spend a week away, learning about the love of Jesus, playing fun games, and enjoying the lake. They offer 3-day camp for students in grades 1-3 ($245) and 6-day camp for students in grades 3-8 ($489). There is also one week during the summer that they offer a camp program specifically built for 8-12th graders.

Scholarships are available to help you send your child or grandchild to camp, too!

The schedule is shared here, and you can find more information on the summer camps under the ‘Summer 2026!’ tab at the top of the page.

Sarah, a fourth grade student at St. John’s, is very excited for her third trip to camp this summer and shared some thoughts on why she loves it, and why she thinks other kids will love it, too.

What do you get to do at camp?

“We get to swim, eat good food… no really, is actually really good food… and there’s a water slide and so many games to play! We also get to do camp fires, sing funny camp songs, and learn about the Bible with our cabins!”

What is your favorite part of camp?

“My favorite part is spending time with the new people I get to meet. And playing in the lake – it’s so fun.”

Is there anyone you’re excited to see this summer?

“I requested one of the counselors to be my counselor this summer because I’ve seen her the last two years and she’s awesome!”

Do you have any advice for a student that goes for the first time this summer?

“If it’s a hot week, take a bottom bunk! It’s way better when it’s hot out and stays cooler than the top bunk!”
