Hungry students struggle to learn.  For this reason, many schools offer some sort of breakfast option for their students.  St. John’s is considering adding breakfast to its nutrition program in the 2024/25 school year.  To that end, for two weeks in April, we experimented with what the best way may be to make this happen for St. John’s.

The trial was a fantastic success! For two reasons:

  • On average, 90 out of 144 students took advantage of the breakfast offerings.
  • We learned a whole bunch about what worked and what did not work (the primary reason for the experiment).

The Grab N Go bags included:

  • Milk
  • Apple or Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup of Fruit
  • Each day, a choice of either a Strawberry Bagel Bar, Cereal Bar, or Pop Tart was offered.

In the coming weeks, the leadership team will work to assess the outcomes of the experience and whether we can add breakfast options for our students for the 2024/25 school year.

St. John’s School wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our families for their continued support and partnership. Together, we make a positive difference in the lives of our students every day.
