Many hands make light work
On Saturday, October 21, nearly two dozen workers spent the morning cleaning and scrubbing everything from wooden pews and trim to stripping floors in the basement. Years of dust and debris were cleaned and trash removed. Buckets of dirty water and plenty of spent rags were removed to be cleaned. Work began at 2pm and everyone was gone by 1pm, with most calling it a morning by 11am.
Later that week additional workers continued the effort on the lower level, preparing the brides room for a wedding and completing work on some of the floors in the basement. Since that time other projects have been added to the “do list,” so additional volunteers working on their own would be very helpful.
Plans are already in the works for a follow-up day in the spring, moving outdoors to complete projects that have been underway for a while, some for a year or more! If you see a project in the church building that needs attention please speak up. (And, yes, you may be asked to help complete the project!)
