Early in October each family will receive in the mail an UPDATE on our Capital Campaign, The Ministry We Share (TMWS). We remain a considerable distance from our goal and need YOUR help in achieving our goal.
CHURCH SANCTUARY HVAC
It has been clear this summer that our sanctuary HVAC needs to be replaced. Hotter days have meant some rather uncomfortable heat during worship services, although the existing HVAC units have been able to keep up on “cooler” days. We are also making use of previously unused exhaust fans and thermostat settings which help circulate the air a bit more, helping the one insufficient AC unit running in the sanctuary do a better job.
GYMNASIUM
The big news is that the original contractor that installed the new gymnasium floor last summer will be on site during the first week of August to replace the striping that began to fail last year almost immediately. Stop by and take a look beginning Monday, August 3.
OTHER PROJECTS
REMEMBER: With larger buildings come larger projects, even if a repair is all that is required. Right now there are NO FUNDS available for the “unforeseen” project that is likely to pop up in the coming two years or so. Several years ago, when the rooftop HVAC units for our school all had to be replaced we did have some funds on hand that could help cover the cost. But now those funds are exhausted. Funds raised through TMWS will help replenish our Capital Improvement Fund so that these projects can receive the much-needed attention in the coming years.
PROGRESS
While final amounts through the end of May will not be available for several weeks, our most recent update indicates pledges and gifts of just over $132,000 … which remains about 45% of the way to our ultimate goal of $298,800. ONCE WE REACH our goal we should be set to respond well to several other emergency needs as they may arise.
How can you help us reach our goal?
