There are many exciting events coming up at the school this month! Save the date and plan to join us:
Grandparents Day
On Friday, September 18th at 8-10:30am, students will get to bring a grandparent or special friend to school for a fun morning of special activities! The day will start with chapel, students will be able to sit with their adult, and then each class will perform a short presentation, such as a song or poem. After that students will be able to take their guest to see their classroom and then enjoy some activities and donuts together.
Some students do not have a local grandparent or an adult friend that can get off work for the morning. Therefore, volunteers are needed to be buddies with a student or two for the morning activities, 8-10:30am beginning in the church. If you’re willing to assist, please contact Deaconess Michele to be partnered up.
Back to School Carnival
All of the St. John’s community is invited to join for a Carnival in the school gym, on Friday, September 18th at 5-7pm. There will be bounce houses, face painting, and tons of games to play! Admission is $5 per person, but is capped at $20 per family, and all of those fun activities are included!
For additional purchase, you can also buy dinner from the concessions options, take part in the cake walk, and bid on various baskets in the silent auction.
This carnival is a fun way for teachers, school families, and church families to all get to interact as the school year gets into its rhythm and St. John’s celebrates its 170th year of ministry!
If you’d like to assist with the concessions or running a game during the carnival, you can sign up here.
Nelson’s Port-a-Pit
Plan to stop by St. John’s to buy a ½ chicken and pit-atoes from Nelson’s Port-a-pit on September 25th! The food should be ready by 11am, and usually sells out by 5pm. There will be no presale tickets, so the food will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
