Pastor Albers was teasing some of our congregational and school leadership at a meeting recently, that a new committee was planning to meet weekly on Tuesday mornings.  Their agenda includes repairs and projects around the school building that need attention.

They aren’t sitting at a table for these meetings, they are moving around as the work requires. And instead of talking about all the work that needs to be completed, they DO the work that needs to be completed!

The group plans to meet on Tuesdays, beginning at 9am, from May 5 through the beginning of the school year this fall.  And they welcome others to join them, especially those who have some measure of “DIY” skills.  Among the projects the “committee” completed recently:

  • Replacing drywall in and around the gym storage area
  • Moving a motion detector switch to a middle school restroom
  • Replacing a fire alarm sensor in a storage room
  • Completing some unfinished bits and pieces of raceway that is a part of our school’s computer network system.

In the coming weeks the “committee” will be focused on:

  • Replacing a computer projector and pull down screen with a large screen display (recently donated by a member who was “upgrading”)
  • Replacing a failed booster pump for the gymnasium heating system
  • Adding some computer network cable to improve monitoring of security cameras in our school office
  • Replacing some undercabinet lighting in our preschool classroom

Want to join the committee? Bring your bucket of tools and a few skills to the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 9am.
