EAGLE UPDATES

It has been a BUSY month. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the time just flies, but we hope the students have had a lot of fun along with their learning. Next month we will be taking our second round of testing, and we have National Lutheran School Week to celebrate the last week of January. Remember that students come back to school on Tuesday January 6th. Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Be safe, and I look forward to seeing you all back in 2026.

Be Blessed,
Greg Alberding

Past Events:

12/5 - Christmas Craft, Thank you to all who helped with this event, providing crafts, making crafts with the students, setting up, tearing down, providing food, and other assistance. It was another year of great success with over 500 crafts made by our students. Special thanks to Sara Mass for leading this year.

12/5 - Christmas Family Movie Night, The movie night went much better this time with louder sound, an energy releasing period before the movie, and an accurate estimate of how much pizza to purchase.

12/11 - Christmas Concert, I heard primarily great feedback on the Christmas Concert this year. While it was difficult to line up all the students at the front to be seen, it assured us we had enough seating for all guests. Special Thank you Sue Rosselli for orchestrating the concert.

12/19 - Classroom Christmas Parties, The classroom parties will be taking place later today as I am writing this. I know a lot of preparation has been going into various classes to have a celebration before Christmas break. Thank you to all the faculty, staff, and family members that make these days a success.

Every weekend, worship is on Saturdays at 6pm in the church sanctuary and is on Sundays at 8am in the church sanctuary and 9:30am in the school cafeteria. Everyone is invited to join us! During the 9:30am Connect service, there is a space for kids to play off to the side, to help kids and parents be more comfortable.

  • January 4th - The 2nd Sunday of Christmas
  • January 11th - The Baptism of our Lord

Registration is $50, but scholarships are available as we don’t want the cost to hinder any women who would like to attend.

Student Council was busy this month spreading holiday cheer and helping others. On November 17, members rang the Salvation Army bell at the LaPorte Walmart for two hours at both entrances while singing Christmas carols. They also took time to make Christmas cards for shut-ins to brighten their holiday season.
In addition, Student Council helped with Operation Christmas Child by assisting younger students as they packed boxes, carrying items, and organizing supplies. After a month full of service and hard work, students enjoyed a well-earned Christmas party and some time to rest before the New Year.
As I am searching for an interesting tip this month, I found this site which provides a different area of focus for some family time each week. I am going to try it in January with my two children. I hope it benefits us, and perhaps your family too.
