Farewell to Alleluias, 2023
Now an annual event, plan now to join our school students, faculty and staff to say “Farewell!” for a season to the word that, more than any other, reflects our joy as God’s people.
The children will prepare an “Alleluia,” a butterfly, that symbolizes the Resurrection of Our Lord. Led by the 7th and 8th grade class, the children join in a New Orleans style Mardi Gras parade through the school, until gathering in the gymnasium to say “farewell” and “bury” our Alleluias in a small chest. The chest will be placed at the altar in the SJLC sanctuary until Easter Sunday when they will be released to fill the chancel.
