A member of St. John's Lutheran Church for most of his life, Mark authors our monthly Growing in Christ: Devotions to Strengthen Your Life with God newsletter column.
Mark was graduated from St. John"s school in 1963 and after high school enlisted in the Army, serving in the artillery for four (4) years and was even deployed to Vietnam for 12 months. Upon his return Mark was graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Business Administration.

Mark has served the Lord through St. John's in many capacities: as President, head usher, and 30+ years on the Board of Elders. Mark and Diane, his wife, recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. In the course of those years, they have been blessed with three (3) children and five (5) grandchildren.
"God has been good to me throughout all my years, and will continue to do so until He sees fit to bring me home to be with Him," Mark says in reflecting on his many years of life.
